Many people today own blogs but can one define what a blog, blogging is plus which blog types they read to a newbie in the blogging industry. Today we look at the blogging activity overview.

Terminology used in Blogging

A Blog- Is a type of website in a journal format that is user generated and updated by a person or group of people sharing their experience, views, thoughts about products and services through discrete publications (entries) called posts that are arranged in a reverse chronological order.
Reverse chronological order means the most recent post to the least recent. Some times referred to as an online diary

A Blogger- A person or group of people that deal with the managing of a blog. The managing involves publishing discrete entries called posts, reply of comments from readers, optimizing posts for search and also updating already published posts.
Groups of people managing blogs are seen with news, corporate, company and business blogs like Mashable, Techcrunch, SeoMoz, and Social Media Examiner among others.

Blogging – This is an activity type of publishing discrete entries called posts and updating a blog as a whole.
Professional blogging involves writing posts for search (optimizing posts to be visible in search engines) and also writing and publishing valuable, unique, on-demand and problem solving posts that will blog visitors into readers.
